Inspiration 60 / Maria Svarbova

It’s truly inspiring to see someone’s style through their work. Like many of the other artists I find on Instagram, Maria Svarbova captured my attention with her stunning swimming pool photography. The Swimming Pool series is Maria’s current and largest body of work that features swimming pools built in the Socialist Era in many locations in Slovakia where she resides. Selecting the pool as the background for her photograph seems very intentional from a visual and cinematic perspective. The soft colors, water reflections, and calm essence of an indoor pool provides the perfect backdrop for her work. The models are frozen in between small movements. Cold and still, much like the pool tiles themselves. I’m quite obsessed. Give her a follow on Instagram and check out the rest of her work.
