Inspiration 78 / Monochromatic Color

All

I’m the type of person that typically wears neutrals all year round and by neutrals I mean mostly black. Once summer rolls around I start to have fun with color. Recently though, I’ve been noticing that I’m gravitating towards colors that are bright and totally in your face. Tomato orange, lavender, golden yellow, and emerald green just to name a few. I honestly think it’s because I’ve been recently inspired by monochromatic photography. Whether it’s product or fashion photography, this monochrome theme has been taking off everywhere. There’s something so appealing about seeing different tones, tints, and shades of a single color in one image. One of the first images that I saw that incorporated this monochromatic style was the “Wardrobe Snacks” project. This series was brought to you by the amazing Kelsey McClellan and genius Michelle Maguire. The first image below comes from that collaboration and honestly, it is just too good for words. Let us know if you’ve seen this monochrome theme before and which image is your favorite.

Ps. Sorry there’s so many! I got a little carried away. 😉
