One Prop Challenge / 08

One Prop Challenge is a series that allows us to play around with ideas, learn new techniques, and challenge ourselves as creatives. You can read about our first challenge here.

I’ve been working on taking better care of myself lately and paying more attention to what I put in and on my body. I’ve always had really sensitive skin, and recently I’ve gotten more into natural beauty products. This led me to discover Herbivore, a really awesome natural skincare line.

I love Herbivore’s product shots and their Instagram feed is really gorgeous. Dream client for sure. You all know I’m a sucker for good packaging, so I probably would have purchased their products based on beauty alone, but I love the fact that they are actually good for you too.

As soon as I bought the Lapis oil I knew that I wanted to shoot it with Arabela because I was so inspired by the intense color and the look of the bottle. I really wanted to make the color pop so we paired it with persimmons which contrasted perfectly. They also are a really beautiful, smooth fruit which reminds me of the smooth skin Lapis promises.
